Apple Crisp Minimize
- submitted by Dahlia on 11-23-2010

Ingredients
For Filling
Apples - 4 cups (peeled and sliced)
Berries - 1 cup (optional)
(You can use strawberries, raspberries, blackberries etc or skip the berries.)
White Sugar - 1/2 cup
Lemon Juice - 1 tsp

For Topping
All Purpose Flour (Maida) - 1 cup
Oats - 1 cup
Brown Sugar - 1 cup
Ground Cinnamon - 2 tsp
Butter - 1 stick (1/2 cup)
(You can also use 1/2 cup of chopped nuts along with the above ingredients to make the topping)
Method
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
2. In a mixing bowl, toss the apples and the berries (if you are using) with the sugar and lemon juice. Keep it aside.
3. In another mixing bowl, combine the all purpose flour, oats, brown sugar and cinnamon.
4. Add the butter to this and knead it together till the mixture is well combined and crumbly. You can also do this in a food processor.
5. Take a baking dish of your choice and press half of this mixture.
6. Put the apple mixture over this and spread it evenly.
7. Put the remaining oats crumble mixture on top of this.
8. Bake for about 45 minutes until the topping is golden brown and the filling is bubbly.
9. Let it rest for about 20-30 minutes. Serve when it is still warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
