I made the mistake of making this recipe and learned three things:
1) Never tell your friends/family how good it is otherwise you'll be making it all the time, for yourself and all the new masala popcorn eaters you know!! :)
2) Double the spices and watch out!! Mmmmm good! Absolutely love this popcorn!!
3) You cannot live on masala popcorn alone. It is fiber, so that's good, but after a few days, you should really start incorporating fruits, veggies and protein into your new masala diet!!

Thanks for the recipe! I'm trying to replicate some awesome Savory Masala Popcorn I buy regularly at Amazon.

I eat this stuff everyday and thought it might be fun to try making it myself.

Try it out Dan and give your feedback..

One doubt, when i add the masala it burns - and the popcorn has burnt pieces around it - rather than how the flavor coats evenly in store bought ones. How to get that?
Person   ()
Did you keep on medium low heat??? The masala wont burn in low heat...

Similarly, the butter and masala should coat the corn kernels completely before they start popping.... The final product will then be coated with the spices.... Do not reduce the amount of butter....

I thought this would be a little more flavorful than it was but it was overall pretty good. I would make this again.

Hi Nija, You can double the spices to suit to your taste. The measurements given here are for moderate spice level. It will be suitable for the general public including kids and old people. Feel free to modify it to your spice level. Infact, I add twice the amount of spice when I make for myself.
