Methi Bhaji

Methi Bhaji


  • Tender methi (fenugreek leaves) bunch - 4
  • Onion - 1 big (finely chopped)
  • Tomato - 1 (finely chopped)
  • Ginger garlic paste - 1 tsp
  • Red chili powder - 1 tsp
  • Coriander powder - 1 tsp
  • Cumin powder - 1/4 tsp
  • Sabzi masala (or pav bhaji masala) - 1 tsp
  • Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
  • Cumin powder - 1/4 tsp
  • Oil/Butter - 2 tsp
  • Cumin seeds - 1 tsp
  • Salt - to taste


  1. Wash and chop the methi bunch along with the tender stems and keep aside.
  2. Heat oil in  a kadai and add the cumin seeds. When it sizzles, add the chopped onion and ginger garlic paste.
  3. Once the onion becomes soft, add the chopped tomato. Cook till it becomes mushy.
  4. Add required salt, turmeric powder, red chili powder, sabzi masala, coriander powder and cumin powder. Saute for a minute.
  5. Add the methi leaves, cover and cook till is done. If you want it in a gravy form, add little water and boil it.
