Tricolour Chapati

Here is a tri colored chapatti recipe that is perfect for celebrating Indians independence. Of course you can enjoy it any day as it is packed with nutrition.

Recipe For Tricolour Chapatti

Ingredients

For Red Colour

  • Whole wheat flour (Atta) - 1/2 cup
  • Carrot puree - 1/4 cup
  • Salt - 1/4 tsp

For Green Colour

  • Whole wheat flour (Atta) - 1/2 cup
  • Green peas puree - 1/4 cup (You could also use spinach or any other green leafy vegetable puree.)
  • Salt - 1/4 tsp

For White Colour

  • All purpose flour - 1/2 cup
  • Salt - 1/4 tsp

Method

  1. Make a smooth puree of the carrot and green peas. You need about 1/4th cup of puree for 1/2 cup of flour.

    Tricolour Chapatti

  2. Make a smooth chapatti dough with the each list of ingredients separately. You will have 3 colored dough.
  3. Pinch a small ball from each colored dough (blueberry size).
  4. Press these balls together in the order - orange, white and green.
  5. Roll this combined dough into a thin chapatti.
  6. Cook it on a tawa. Enjoy with some ketchup, raita and hari (green) chutney

Do you boil the vegetables and make puree , even for spinach or grind it raw ?
