Momos are steamed dumplings popular around most Asian countries. It has become one of the popular street food in India in the last few years. The dumplings can be found in different shapes. It is typically served with spicy red chutney or hot sauce.

Today I am sharing the veg momo recipe. The filling here is made with shredded cabbage and carrot. It is a healthy after school snack as it is steamed. You can make the wrapper using wheat flour to make it even healthier. However making with wheat flour changes the taste a bit. So its your personal choice.

  1. Take a rolled and cut out wrapper and apply a little bit of water on the edges.
  2. Put a tbsp of the filling in the center.
  3. There are several ways in which the momos are shaped. One way is to start gathering the edges to form pleats. The simplest way to make is to fold the wrapper over the filling and seal the edges forming a half moon shape. You could also make other shapes.
  4. Similarly make all the momos. Place the momos on any steaming dish (like vegetable steamer, idli plates, dhokla stand).
  5. Steam on medium flame for 15-20 minutes.
