Rava Kesari (Sooji Halwa)

Ingredients  

Roasted rava - 1 Cup
Sugar - 1 Cup
Ghee - 2 tblsp
Water - 1 ¼ Cup
Food Color (Kesari powder) - a pinch

Cashew and Raisins - as needed (about 1/4 cup)

Method
1. Mix all the ingredients together and transfer it to a microwave safe tray.
2. Microcook on micro Power "high" for 4 minutes.

3. Let it rest for 5 minutes and cut into pieces. Garnish with chopped nuts and raisins.

           Very convenient, especially when guests come.
Can a similar method be used for Rava Uppuma?

         Yeah true. You can also use the same method for rava upma too.

         Sorry to hear that. Next time try adding more water.

         We can prepare rava kesari and keep in fridge and after a day we can take it out in room temp for some time and again put in in oven by adding a spoon of ghee it will be very fresh and tasty..

          can we prepare rava kesari one day befor the party and keep it in fridge? shall we microwave again on the day we use?

          Hi sunitha, I've never made rava kesari ahead of time for parties. So i'm not sure of how it would be. The kesari would become little harder while in the fridge. Other than that I think it should be fine,
