It is also called Tukmaria or Basil seeds. It is the edible seeds of a variety of basil plant (Indian Thulsi). The seeds are tiny and black. When soaked in water, it absorbs water and forms a jelly like coating around the seed. These seeds are tasteless but adds a nice visual appeal to any drink. It is also said to have some health benefits.
