Thandai is a refreshing summer drink especially made on occasion of Mahashivratri, the wedding Anniversary of Shiva and Parvati or during Holi. It is consumed as prasad

Recipe For Thandi


  • 1 liter full fat milk 
  • 4-5 badam
  • 6-7 kaju
  • 4-5 pista
  • 4-5 elachi 
  • 2 spoon Khus khus
  • 3 spoon badishop
  • 1/2 spoon black peppercorns 
  • 2-3 pinch Kesar
  • 6-7 spoon powder sugar of Rock sugar ( you can use regular sugar too)
  • Finely diced dry fruits &saffron to garnish 


  1. In a thick bottom vessel keep milk to boil 
  2. Keep stirring so that malai is absorbed in milk only and not separated
  3. In a mixi jar add all nuts and spices together and grind on incher mode. Just powder together and NOT a ball of nuts and spices.
  4. Pour the masala,  powder sugar to boiling milk
  5. Keep stirring continuously as it forms lumps in milk avoid lumps as masala’s complete flavours should enter to milk 
  6. Simmer for 4-5 minutes with continuously stirring 
  7. Allow it cool  completely 
  8. Strain the milk squeeze everything from left out masla 
  9. Refrigerator for 2-3 hours 
  10. Garnish with scrapped nuts and saffron and serve cool
