[Chandraseniya Kayastha Prabhu (CKP) style crispy fried fish]
This is a typical fried fish recipe from the Chandraseniya Kayastha Prabhu (CKP)
Any fish - 1/2 kg (1 lb)
Oil - to fry
To make a paste
Red Chillies - 10
Ginger - 3 gms
Garlic - 10 cloves
Corriander Leaves - handful
Tamarind Pulp - 3 tblsp or Lemon Juice - from 1 medium size lemon
Red Chilly Powder - 2 tsp
Asafotida - a pinch
Turmeric Powder - 1/2 tsp
Salt - to taste
Rice Flour - as needed
Channa Dal Flour - as needed
1. Make a paste of all the ingredients.
2. Coat the fish with the paste and marinate for half an hour.
3. Fry as it is or coat with the crispy coating and fry.
