Kairi Kanda Chutney is a spicy chutney from Maharashtra. It is made of sour and hard raw mango and onion. This raw mango and onion chutney goes well with chapati or roti.

Recipe For Kairi Kanda Chutney


  • 1 big raw kairee (sour and hard raw mango)
  • 1 medium size onion
  • 1/2 vati roasted peeled peanut
  • 4-5 red chilli (soaked for 10-15 min) or 2-3 red chilli powder I had used Byadagi red chilli + 1 spoon red chilli powder
  • Half lemon size gud
  • Salt to taste


  1. Make smooth paste in mixie jar without using water 
  2. In a tadka pan heat 2 spoon oil add 1/4 spoon rai and 1/4 spoon hing allow it to splutter and pour on chutney 
  3. Mix well and serve.
  4. It has shell life of only 1 day if kept out.

Serving Suggestion

  • Serve the kairi kanda chutney as a condiment for chapati or roti.
