I am a begineer and new to this website. I tried this recipe at home but it tastes like rubbish. Either instructions are not proper or something is wrong/missing in this recipe. I never had such a bad dinner.

you must have added a lot of oil, or a lot of garam masala. These two should be taken with careful measurements. Use pomace olive oil for the preparation or regular vegetable oil. Don't use the mustard oil. If vegetable oil is used, be careful of its sticky consistency, olive oil is really good with breads. Salt is also a very decisive ingredient for the taste. I have performed this dish and my mom used to cook it and it really goes well.
Mohsin, I think you did wrong with the oil and dal.
