Pumpkin Bud Bhajia (Pumpkin Flower Fritters)

(Pumpkin Buds Pakoras)

Recipe For Pumpkin Bud Bhajia

Preparation Time: 10 mts
Cooking Time: 10 minutes
Serves: 1-2


  • 5-8 nos Pumpkin flower (bud)
  • 1/2 cup Gram flour (besan)
  • 1 tsp Heaped rice flour
  • 1/4 tsp Ajwain
  • 1 tsp Hot oil
  • A pinch of asafoetida
  • Salt, Red chilli powder as required
  • Water
  • Oil for frying


Step: 1

  1. In a mixing bowl, add besan (gram flower), rice flour, chili powder, salt, ajwain (carom seeds) and mix well.  
  2. Add the hot oil.
  3. Add water little by little to make a bhajia batter.

Step: 2

  1. In a kadai, heat oil.
  2. Dip the pumpkin flower bud and put it in oil and fry the same as you make the normal bhajias.
  3. Repeat the process for all the remaining buds.

Serving Suggestion

  • Enjoy hot bhajia with sauce over a cup of tea.

Tell you its really awesome!!!!! First time in my life i made this and enjoyed. I have seen this in the market very rarely.
