Here is how to prepare healthy green gram ladoo at home. This lad is otherwise called as paushtik hirvya moogache ladoo.

Recipe For Paushtik Hirvya Mugache Ladoo

Preparation Time: 30 minutes
Cooking Time: 40 minutes
Serves: 10


  • Whole Moong (Green Gram) – ½ kg
  • Jaggery – ½ kg (grated)
  • Fenugreek Seeds (Methi dhana) – 2 tsp
  • Aaliv Seeds – 4 tsp
  • Dinka
  • Almonds (Badam) – 2 tbsp
  • Cashews (Kaju) -  2 tbsp
  • Nutmeg – 1 tsp (grated)
  • Ghee – 3-4 tbsp


  1. Take 1/2 kg green moong and dry roast in kadai for 4-5 minutes on low flame till slight colour change is observed. Allow it cool completely
  2. Dry roast the fenugreek (methi) seeds and allow to cool.
  3. Dry roast the Aaliv seeds and allow it to cool.
  4. Make fine powder of Methi seeds and aaliv seed using a mortar pastel.
  5. In a kadai heat 3-4 spoon home made ghee and fry dinka and keep aside.
  6. In same remaining ghee, toast 2 spoon each of badam and kaju and keep aside.
  7. In a mixie jar, make rough powder (like rava) of green gram. 
  8. In same kadai heat 3-4 spoon ghee and now roast green gram rava on slow flame for 20-25 min. It will be very much aromatic. If required add 1-2 spoon of additional ghee.
  9. Allow it to cool till it’s very slightly warm now add nice grated jaggery 1/2 kg (add little less if you like less sweet).
  10. Add powdered methi and aaliv seeds, crushed fried dinka and toasted chopped nuts and 1 spoon of grated jaiphal. Give a good mix.
  11. Jaggery should be dissolved in the mixture properly. This is a must else jaggery sweetness won’t be disturbed equally.
  12. Once it is well mixed, mould the mixture with hands and form ladoos.
