Matar paneer is a tasty side dish made from malai paneer, green peas, tomotoes and onion. Try this side dish with roti or chapatti.

Recipe For Matar Paneer

Ingrediengs

  • 250 gms green peas peeled n boiled
  • 250 gms malai paneer cut in cubes
  • 3 red ripe tomatoes raw purée 
  • 2 large onion grind to paste
  • 2 green chilli
  • 2 inch ginger
  • 4 garlic cloves
  • handful of fresh coriander grind  to paste

Method

  1. In a pan heat oil and ghee together add 1-2 small tej patta, 1/2 teaspoon jeera and let it splutter then add onion paste and cook till golden colour and green grind paste and stir till garlic and ginger odour goes then add tomato and let it cook.
  2. Now add 1/2 teaspoon haldi powder. 1-1.5 red chilli powder, 1.5 teaspoon garam masala/ chhole/ pav bhaji masala (any 1) salt to taste and cook till oil/ghee separates, but be careful it should not burn add half cup hot water and stir to get gravy consistency.
  3. Now add boiled peas and paneer cubes and give a good stir.
  4. Simmer for 2-3 minutes and serve hot.

Serving Suggestion

  • Serve the hot matar paneer with warm roti or chapathi.
