Chilli Paneer Toast Sandwich

Who doesn't like different Sandwich recipes for busy week nights? Sadwiches are so comforting and filling. If we add all the healthy ingredients inside, we can make it healthy too. Here is one such nutritious sandwich made with paneer and vegetables - Chili Paneer Sandwich. You can change the vegetable depending on what you have on hand.

The paneer stuffing here is flavoured with tasty Asian sauces rather than our usual Indian spices. It adds a nice taste. This stuffing that is prepared can also be spread over a bread and enjoyed as Chili Paneer Toast. You could even make Chili Paneer Wraps with it by rolling it within rotis. It is perfect for weeknights, breakfast or lunchbox. Enjoy.

Recipe for Chili Paneer Sandwich

Preparaton Time: 15 minutes
Cooking Time: 15 minutes
Serves: 2


  • Sandwich Bread Slices - 4
  • Butter - 2 tbsp
  • Paneer - 1/2 cup (grated)
  • Oil - 1 tbsp
  • Onion - 1
  • Green Chili - 1
  • Green pepper (Capsicum) - 1 (chopped) (or You could use other chopped vegatables of your choice like Spinach, Carrot, Corn etc.)
  • Bread cubes - 2 tbsp
  • Tomato Ketchup - 2 tbsp
  • Hot Red Chilli Sauce - 1 tbsp
  • Pepper powder - 1/4 tsp
  • Salt - to taste
  • Coriander leaves - handful
  • Grated cheese - 1/4 cup


  1. Heat oil in a pan, fry the chopped onions, green chili & capsicum for 5 minutes. You can add other vegetables depending on what you have on hand.
  2. Add bread cubes, grated paneer, tomato ketchup, chilli sauce, salt, pepper powder and chopped cilantro. Mix well.
  3. Apply butter on slightly toasted bread slices.
  4. Spread the above mixture and sprinkle some grated cheese on top. Grill until the cheese melts to make chili paneer toast.
  5. Cover with a second slice of bread and grill on both sides till golden brown to make chili paneer sandwiches.

may be you can prepare everything and grill it when you are ready to eat. Hot sandwiches tastes much better than cold ones.

    What exactly do you mean by bread cubes?

    To make bread cubes, cut off the sides of the bread and shred the middle portion. You can also use store bought cruotons.
