Jump to recipe ↓

Granola is a crunchy, tasty breakfast item from America. It is made with rolled oats, dried fruits and nuts. These are mixed together with honey, oil and together baked. Together it is a tasty mix. It can be enjoyed with milk and fresh fruits for breakfast. This can also be used as a topping with flavoured yogurt, ice-creams and other desserts. It makes a healthy snack. Granola bars are popular among kids as a snack.

Making Granola is very simple to make. You can mix oats with any nuts and dried fruits that you have on hand. Its a great option for kids to have after school. Another similar snack popular in India is called Muesli. In Muesli, oats, nuts and dried fruits are mixed together but it is not baked. Personally I prefer the taste and crunchiness of granola more. Here is the recipe.

I DON'T HAVE OVEN. IS IT POSSIBLE FOR ME TO PREPARE GRANOLA? LOOKS SO GOOD.

Reply :-
Yes you can make granola on stove top. In a kadai (wok) or frying pan,  roast the oats and nuts over low heat till it turns light brown. Next add the maple syrup, vanilla, cinnamon powder and oil. Mix everything together. Keep roasting on a low flame till everything becomes crispy. Be careful not to burn it. Switch off and mix in the raisins and dry fruits.
