We recently went for Sunday brunch with our family to a restaurant named “South indies” which serves platter from all the 5 states of south India. It was quite an interesting and a delicious experience. In their dessert section I found something new that I have never tried earlier. It was the tender coconut or elaneer milk shake. It was cutely served in small glasses that it was just not possible to miss it.
Tender Coconut milkshake is a refreshing beverage that is very delicious and breaks the monotony of regular milkshakes. It is easy to make and does not require much efforts and saves a lot of time. Tender coconut is nutritious drink which is rich in electrolytes, vitamins, minerals and is low in calories. It is the best drink one can have after a strenuous work out. It also has 10 times more the amount of potassium of any drink. Tender coconut water has cytokinins which are believed to have anti ageing and cancer fighting properties. Days when you are feeling dehydrated, this healthy beverage quenches your thirst and leaves feeling full for quite some time. It can be enjoyed on occasions like kitty parties and get together and it is sure to become a super hit in your gathering. Give yourself a treat and enjoy the goodness of coconut.
Recipe for Tender Coconut Shake
Preparation time: 10 minutes
Cooking time: NIL
- Coconut water - 1.5 cup
- Tender coconut - 1/2 cup
- Milk - 1/4 cup
- Sugar - 4 tsp
- Crushed ice - of 3-4 cubes
- Take all the ingredients in a blender.
- Blend it till it becomes smooth and frothy.
- Serve immediately with ice cubes.
