Lal Mirchi Cha Thecha (Red Chilli Chutney)

Recipe For Lal Mirchi Cha Thecha

Ingredients

  • 15-16 Lal Mirchies
  • 35-40 Garlic cloves 
  • 2 Spoon jeera 
  • 2-3 Pinch hing
  • 1/4 Spoon Methi Dana I
  • 2 Small vati oil
  • 1/2 Lemon 
  • Salt to taste

Method

  1. Wash clean and complete dry chilli.

    Lal Mirchi

  2. Then remove above string (detha)and roughly make pieces Mirchi try just 1 each length breadth
  3. In a pan heat 1 vati  oil 
  4. Fry peeled garlic for 5-6 minutes on small flame, it should not change colour
  5. Remove fried garlic and set aside to cool
  6. In same pan and oil fry Mirchi  for 3-4 minutes on slow flame 
  7. Remove fried Mirchi and allow it to cool 
  8. In a mixi jar add cooled fried garlic and Mirchi squeez lemon and on incher grind for once or twice alternatively grind in mortar pastel. I used mortar pastel 
  9. Again heat 1 vati oil in same pan
  10. Put tadka of jeera Methi dana hing then add grind mixture and sauté for 3-4 minutes 
  11. Add salt and give good mix 
  12. When oil starts separating switch off the gas stove  and cool down completely 
  13. Store in jar

Tips

  • You can replace lemon with Imli but then add Kashmiri lal Mirchi powder for colour
  • You can even skip Mirchi seed but red chilli are not that theekha so it works
